Plataformista (Roughneck)
Job Summary:
Roughnecks will be directly responsible to the Driller for all Well Operations tasks. Roughnecks will work with the
Derrickman in the day to day operation of the Multi-Purpose Tower (MPT) and/or intervention systems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Ensure all rigging operations are in accordance with safe working practice. If they have any doubt about the safety of the operation, they will bring this to the attention of the Driller, Derrickman or Deck Foreman.
• Use only rigging gear (shackles, slings, straps, etc) which are in good condition and in-date (colour coded) for certification.
• Ensure that equipment is rigged safely, as per best working practises.
• Ensure housekeeping is maintained and free of all unused equipment.
• Assist with the running and retrieval of the riser, wellhead equipment and subsea intervention systems.
• Assist with the maintenance of all intervention and MPT and/or Derrick equipment to a good safe working standard.
• Assist with the operation of the MPT and/or Derrick and associated MPT and/or Derrick systems.
• Assist with the mixing of well intervention and cementing fluids.
• Assist with the slipping and cutting of the MPT and/or Derrick main lift wire.
• Assist with the preparation of well intervention tools.
• Assist with the transfer of chemicals to/from the Deck tanks, or as directed by the Derrickman.
• Under instruction from the Driller will carry out Emergency Disconnection & Well Control Drills to ensure that all deck personnel are familiar with these operations.
• Ensure that they are involved in the weekly safety meetings with their crew.
• Ensure that Health & Safety policies are understood by all crewmembers.
• Ensure that they attend all toolbox/TRAC meetings, for all operational and safety aspects of the shift.
• In conjunction with the Driller, ensure Personnel are trained and familiarised to meet the company’s requirements.
• Perform Emergency Duties as directed by Station Bill and OIM
• Perform preventative and planned maintenance on Project equipment and associated equipment.
• Perform preventative and fabric maintenance as directed by their Supervisor.
• Perform Tank Cleaning as required by Supervisor.
• Act as Fire Watch when required.
• Assist in Helideck Operations (if trained and as required)
• Engage as part of the Lifting Team for Supply Vessel Operations
Roughnecks may be required to undertake other tasks as directed by the Driller or Toolpusher.
