Safety first, and foremost

HSQE

The safety and welfare of all our employees, workers and those with whom we interact is of the utmost importance to us. As a business we operate in some high risk industries, however all our interactions carry potential risk. We recognise the importance of a robust and systematic approach to health, environment, safety and quality that goes above and beyond current laws and regulations. Through our ISO-certified management systems, we ensure continuous improvement of our performance and services in accordance with the requirements and expectations of our employees, customers and suppliers.

MDE’s senior management team are responsible for the development and implementation of our HSEQ program, which not only includes risks to physical health but includes a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating mental health issues and well being. Our Offshore Mental Health Awareness initiative is just one example of how we stay ahead of issues, and have planned how to respond if needed.

Whilst we are all responsible for our own and others’ safety, MDE relishes its role in creating an environment where HSEQ can be prioritised and leading activity to promote positive behaviour. Through cooperation and strong communication we prevent unwanted incidents, increase productivity and limit our impact on the environment.

We have never, and will never, prioritize operations over health, environment, safety and quality. For our workers and colleagues this means greater security whilst we build trust with our customers.

ISO Certified

ISO-9001: 2015
ISO 9001 is the world’s most recognized standard for quality management and is a good tool for reducing errors. The system prevents errors from recurring and identifies possible errors before they occur. The standard is process-oriented, adapted to all business processes that affect quality, and emphasizes continuous improvements and customer satisfaction.

ISO 45001: 2018
ISO 45001 is the world’s first ISO standard for the working environment, and sets requirements for continuous follow-up of the working environment, well-being and health, as well as reduction of work-related illness, injury and death. The standard shall enable an organization to develop and implement policies and objectives that take into account statutory requirements, and eliminate or minimize the risk of employees or other stakeholders being exposed to hazards associated with the company’s activities.

ISO 14001: 2015
ISO 14001 is the internationally recognized standard for environmental management and is based on two concepts; continuous improvements and compliance with regulations. The standard contains the key elements for effective environmental management, it shows best practice for proactive management of the company’s impact on the external environment, and helps MDE to reduce its environmental impact to a minimum.
