About Our Client: Our client is a leading innovator in the manufacturing industry, specializing in automotive products. They are known for their commitment to excellence, safety, and environmental responsibility.

As part of their dynamic NPI Team, youll play a crucial role in ensuring manufacturing processes meet project deliverables and Group Standards in a safe and efficient manner.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the evaluation of customer manufacturing requirements to support NPI sales quotations.
  • Deliver manufacturing product solutions on time, managing projects from concept to production-handover + 90 days.
  • Support capacity analysis, deliver flow charts, and value stream maps.
  • Design, develop, install, and test effective automated and manual systems.
  • Organize and manage manufacturing workflows and resources.
  • Integrate disparate systems for seamless operations.
  • Optimize facility layouts, production lines, machine operations, and network performance.
  • Train staff in new and existing processes, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
  • Upgrade systems and processes with new technology, setting new standards.
  • Implement new or simplified technologies where appropriate.
  • Assist in optimizing processes and work layouts to maximize capacity and minimize material movement using simulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and flow-down project requirements to Suppliers.
  • Actively implement, manage, and analyze continuous improvement activities using lean principles and tools.
  • Support the Technical and NPI team in all aspects of the Engineering function for new product/design change introductions, including cost tracking.
  • Conduct risk assessments for equipment and processes for new and modified equipment and processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree qualification in Manufacturing Engineering or relevant field (or equivalent experience, especially in an Automotive Tier 1 setting).
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience within a Manufacturing Engineering environment.
  • Proficiency in Lean, Kaizen, and structured problem-solving tools.
  • Experience in raising Cap-Ex and driving cost reduction initiatives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to build working relationships and deliver results both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in injection mould processing, painting, and related plastics assembly processes.
  • Understanding of PFMEA and Risk Management, as well as HSE regulations governing manufacturing processes.
  • Full UK driving license with a flexible approach to travel.
