Electrical Operations Manager - London, Greater London

Location: Midlands, UK (Flexible and Field based role)

Position: Operations Manager

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000

Overview: An esteemed renewable energy company is seeking a qualified and experienced Operations Manager to oversee large-scale commercial solar projects ranging from 50 kW to 2 MW. The successful candidate will manage projects from sale to completion, ensuring all aspects from design to handover are executed efficiently. This role demands expertise in electrical installations and comprehensive project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management:Oversee the entire lifecycle of solar projects, from initial sale through to design, construction, and final handover.
• Construction Phase Planning: Develop and manage construction phase plans and forecasts.
• Health and Safety: Ensure on-site health and safety standards are met, providing education and training to staff.
• Budget Control: Produce and control cost plans, maintaining overall budget oversight.
• Staff and Contractor Management: Employ and manage staff, and oversee external contractors.
• Procurement: Handle procurement of project materials and manage costs effectively.
• Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and prepare method statements.
• Client Liaison: Maintain communication with clients, providing business reports and project updates.
• Surveys and Testing: Conduct electrical, drone, structural, and scaffolding surveys, along with electrical certification and testing.
• Site Delivery: Manage site delivery and client handover, ensuring client-specific requirements are met and progress is monitored against key dates.
• Team Management: Oversee a team of 30+ individuals, setting and championing KPIs within a project environment.

Qualifications and Experience: 

• Must be a fully qualified electrician with a solid electrical background.
• Proven experience managing large-scale commercial solar projects.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures.
• Excellent budget management and cost control skills.
• Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and preparing method statements.
• Exceptional client management and communication skills.
• Experience in procurement and material management.
• Ability to manage and lead large teams effectively.

Experience Required:

• Extensive experience as an electrician across various commercial, industrial, and agricultural sites.
