Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (DOE/Shift)
Location: Newcastle
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Shift Options Available:
Shift 1: 6am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm, 10pm - 6am, No Weekends
Shift 2: Double Days
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team in the Packing function on a 3-shift pattern/Double Days. You will primarily be responsible for maintaining and improving line performance through corrective, preventative, and proactive maintenance efforts.
Key Duties:
- Undertake Preventative Maintenance (PM), Autonomous Maintenance (AM), and breakdown work as required.
- Participate in planned maintenance and repair of plant and equipment.
- Act as part of the site responsible persons team, including the Fire response team and electrically trained personnel.
- Collaborate closely with the team to resolve plant breakdowns and running issues autonomously.
- Support and drive packing line format changeovers, identifying improvements to reduce changeover times.
- Assist in project work, linking between the project and maintenance teams by implementing new PMs and establishing correct spares coverage levels.
- Maintain high levels of housekeeping in all areas.
- Participate in OPS/production meetings and RCA sessions, reporting plant status and escalations as required.
- Support the operational team to meet volume demands.
- Use SAP to log breakdown data, correctives, and book parts out of Stores.
- Take accountability for your own ongoing development with a demonstrable plan.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Time-served apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical discipline or multi-skilled.
- Expectation to become fully multi-skilled.
- Knowledge and experience of relevant technologies and equipment.
- Minimum of Higher National Certificate (HNC) or equivalent qualification in engineering.
- Experience using SAP maintenance programs.
- Good understanding of relevant industry standards for Mechanical & Electrical engineering.
- Self-motivated, team player, flexible, and able to take on a range of responsibilities without supervision.
- Knowledge of PLC and HMI programming and associated networks is an advantage.
