Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Junior Site Supervisor to join our team on a large-scale solar farm project in Boston, UK. This role is ideal for someone with supervisory experience, a strong understanding of health and safety, and the ability to manage large teams. An electrical background is advantageous, and candidates must have a proven ability to lead teams effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Supervision:
- Oversee daily operations on the solar farm, ensuring projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Lead, manage, and motivate on-site teams, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and efficiency in completing tasks.
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and team members to ensure smooth site operations and workflow coordination.
Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance:
- Implement and monitor strict health and safety standards, ensuring all site activities comply with relevant regulations.
- Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, and risk assessments regularly.
- Immediately address any safety concerns or hazards on-site and report incidents as required.
Team Leadership:
- Manage and supervise large teams, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
- Monitor team performance, providing guidance and feedback as necessary to maintain high standards.
- Support the training and development of on-site personnel, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
Project Management Support:
- Assist in planning and coordinating daily site tasks, ensuring deadlines are met and project milestones achieved.
- Communicate with senior management on project progress, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and site resources.
Requirements:
- SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme): Mandatory certification to supervise and manage site safety effectively.
- Experience in Supervision: Prior experience in a supervisory role on construction or solar farm projects is essential.
- Team Management: Proven ability to lead and manage large teams, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Health & Safety Expertise: Strong knowledge of HSE practices and regulations.
- Electrical Background: Preferred but not essential. Experience with electrical systems or solar installations is an added advantage.
- Right to Work in the UK: Candidates must have full legal rights to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available for this role).
Working Hours:
- 40-hour week (Monday to Friday), with potential weekend work during the initial stages of the project.
