Salary Range: £40,000 - £50,000

Overview: As a Renewables Design Manager, you will play a critical role in the planning and design of large-scale solar and battery projects, focusing on layouts and CAD-based solutions. You will lead a team of 15-20 CAD technicians, overseeing their work and ensuring projects are executed with precision. This position is based in the office and offers an exciting opportunity to work on renewable ranging from 25MW to 1GW in size.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership: Manage and guide a team of 15-20 CAD technicians, providing leadership and support in the development of Renewable Designs.
2. Project Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and design solar and battery storage projects, ensuring they meet technical specifications, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
3. Software Proficiency: Utilise software tools, including AutoCAD and PVCase, to create, modify, and optimise design layouts.
4. Technical Oversight: Ensure that the CAD team produces accurate and efficient Designs optimizing panel placement, tracking systems, and interconnections.
5. Scalable Projects: Work on projects ranging from 25MW to 1GW, focusing on large-scale solar installations and the emerging field of battery storage projects.
6. Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control processes to verify the accuracy and compliance of renewable designs.

Requirements:

1. Experience: Previous experience in solar PV and battery storage layout design is highly desirable.
2. Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of CAD technicians.
3. Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with solar PV design principles, AutoCAD, and PVCase (or willingness to learn PVCase).
4. Project Management: Strong project planning and execution skills, with a focus on meeting timelines and budgets.
5. Detail-oriented: Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality designs.
6. Communication: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with internal teams and clients.
