MDE Consultants are currently in partnership with one of the largest solar developers in the UK to expand their Design team. After heavy investment and approval of the scope of projects, they are gearing up to develop a pipeline whose size is yet to be seen in the UK.

Our client is a trusted Development, Engineering, Procurement and Construction Company (DEPC) with a proven track record of developing, designing, building, and maintaining utility-scale renewables projects in the UK for over 10 years.
With renewable energy becoming being the key to a greener economy our client is continuing to grow, develop and build large scale solar projects, and more often these assets will include battery storage technology, allowing for even more renewables into the local grid system.
Today the market for traditional solar (sub 50MW), and larger-scale solar (NSIPs up to 750MWs) is once again moving at pace. Our client is proud to be leading this development growth with project developments such as a full motorway electric vehicle programme, traditional subsidy-free solar and large-scale solar projects with a pipeline of major projects. Their largest will have a capacity of 600+ MW combined with over 1GW of battery storage.
Key Responsibilities
- Analysing Project Design specifications.
- Creating and reviewing designs for PV Projects up to 50mw, using softwares such as AutoCAD & PVsyst.
- Creation of electrical site plans, array plans, single line diagrams.
- Respond to Construction RFIs, equipment submittals from vendors, independent engineers, and sub-contractors.
- Provide technical support to the development, procurement, construction teams, along with the O&M dept.
- Develop and keep up with industry, country, and local codes.
The Person
- The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, diligent, able to meet key deadlines, enthusiastic and energetic.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar. A relevant high level NVQ will be considered.
- Experience of AutoCAD, PvSyst, MS essential. Any other software associated with PV design will be an advantage.
- Good analytical thinking, and capability to effectively present and communicate key findings and recommendations, ability to work autonomously and within a team, attention to detail, interdisciplinary communication, analytical skills.
