Service Engineer - Heat Pumps - Horley, Surrey

MDE Group are pleased to be partnered up with a leading renewable energy company in the search for a Service Engineer to join their growing team. The company are one of the leading designer, installer, consultant and maintenance providers for renewable energy systems across the UK. The role will be working within the companys service department, maintaning, fault finding and fixing issues with Heat Pumps as well as possible work with Solar PV and Solar Thermal. This role is ideal for a Heating Engineer looking to go into the servicing side of the industry or an existing Service Engineer looking for the next step in their career.

The successful candidate will have great time keeping as well as the ability to work in a systematic and logical way. In addition to this, you will have an interest un finding the root cause of problems rather than just the surface problem and fix both. You will be able to show initiative and do things safely on site, following site rules. In short, our client is looking for someone to work efficiently to company standards with a disciplined approach to work and the building regulations.

In their new service engineer role, my client are looking for someone with:

• Drivers Licence (No more than 3 points)
• Interest in learning about renewable energy systems.
• Knowledge of UK building and water regulations.
• Understanding of flushing, inhibitors and additives needed for heating systems

The Service Engineer role will come with the following responsibilities:

• Identify and solve issues on installed renewable energy systems.
• Attend breakdowns to carry out investigations and fault find.
• Carry out routine service and maintanence for installed renewable energy systems.
• Inspections of systems when arranged by the service administrator.
• Resolve any onsite issues by conducting Plumbing and Electrical repairs.
• Look out for manufacturer faults on installed renewable energy systems and keep the office informed for any warranty claims.
• Make sure all tools, equipment and parts for the job are available onsite.
• Test work and ensure system is operating prior to department from site.
• Fill out and return any relevant return visit paperwork.
• Provide out-of-hour support to clients - this will be in line with a pre-agreed rota.
