Are you passionate about the decarbonisation of the worlds infrastructure?
Our client, who have evolved and grown their business from the transport sector to now being a major renewable energy IPP are passionate to achieve this goal.
Having done exceptionally well in emerging markets, they currently have a focus on projects for the LATAM region and are looking to develop, construct, and operate power projects across Solar, Wind and Battery Storage to name a few.
This position is seeking someone who is driven to join them towards this goal; with a recently established team they offer a malleable platform where your input will be heard and with the capital required to pursue projects past FID.

What does this position entail?

• Managing wind and solar energy projects in South America with our development partners;
• Delivering projects to the final investment decision (FID) before handover to construction;
• Responsible for internal/external reporting, deadlines, budgets, deliverables, and daily project development partner liaison;
• Supporting prospecting, RFPs, bilateral, bid strategy, price, screening, PPA discussions, and power purchase origination;
• Lead/participate in due diligence processes and collaborate with internal departments (tax, accounting, financial, technical, legal, etc.) to evaluate prospects;
• Industry, competition, and market analyses;
• Help other teams with project financing, development, and operations;
• Do additional tasks as needed;
• This job requires frequent travel.

What are we seeking from a candidate?

• Bachelors or Masters degree in related discipline;
• 5-year renewable energy project management experience
• Experience in utility-scale solar and wind projects; with knowledge of the renewable energy business;
• Good commercial/contractual acumen - managing project development agreements and experience with offtake/PPA solutions for renewable energy;
• Excellent technical knowledge and awareness of renewable energy technologies;
• Strong project management and IT knowledge;
• Fluent English. Languages, especially Spanish and Portuguese, are beneficial.
• Good communication skills, competent to interact with business owners, regulatory organisations, and landowners;
• Problem-solving and negotiation skills;
• International travel.
• Organized, accurate, and able to assume full responsibility for own areas of responsibility;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities;
• Ability to interact proactively with management and personnel at all levels of the organisation;
• Ability to perceive the big picture and a can-do mentality
• An independent worker who can collaborate with others;
• Excellent organisational and administrative abilities, including attention to quality, details, prioritisation and workload control.
