National Business Development Manager - Solar Inverters

Permanent: Hybrid, offices in Milton Keynes and travel when required
Basic Salary: £45k - £70k (Flexible DOE) + 33 days AL + Bonus + Vehicle

About the company
Our client is a niche provider of power conversion tools including Frequency Converters, UPS, and now solar invertors. The company has a long number of big-name clients, and in the last two years, sales have doubled. Now, they want to use the facilities they already have to get their solar inverters (4kW to 100kW, single-phase and three-phase) established in the UK market.
The job will be focused on the UK and will report to the Managing Director. There may be some activities internationally from time to time.
In this post, you will be responsible for business development, keeping and growing sales of their solar inverters and related hardware and services to new and existing UK accounts and specifiers.
This is an autonomous position, making your own meetings, meeting with clients in person, and getting to know what they need and want. You will talk to new clients about terms and close sales.
What would be some of your responsibilities?

  • Establish distribution networks and sell/educate solar EPCs; from domestic through to commercial and utility-scale markets.
  • New client sales aiming to meet and exceed quarterly sales quotas.
  • Manage large national and/or special sales accounts.
  • Promote UK market share.
  • Follow-up on qualifying leads, marketing, fact-finding, configurations, bids, and customer visits.
  • Help with account creation, sales strategy, and forecasting; provide customer-focused proposals.
  • Prepare and/or direct service order correspondence.
  • Maintain the orders opportunity system databases, construct a needs assessment, and send necessary paperwork to team members for cost estimate, contract preparation, wire quotations, etc.
  • To close, negotiate pricing and contract terms

What are we seeking from a candidate?

  • Strong oral, writing, interpersonal, and leadership abilities;
  • Ability to work independently, Strong problem-solving skills
  • Negotiation and closure skills;
  • Self-driven and well-organized;
  • Analytical and judicious, team player.
  • Bachelors Degree preferable;
  • 4+ years of sales origination experience, inbound and outbound
  • Strong knowledge of the UK solar market including main EPCs/installers and distributors, established network preferred
