Junior Commercial Asset Manager - Berlin

MDE UK is excited to be working with a renewable energy producer/developer/operator whos a main player in the European energy market. They currently have a large portfolio of wind, solar, innovative BESS solutions, and Hybrid technologies (Over 200MW operational and 1GW in development).

Theyre looking for a Junior Commercial Asset Manager to join their Asset management team which looks after their commercial operations of the wind and solar portfolio. The role is based in Berlin/Hamburg and the ideal candidate would be fluent in German/English.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day commercial activities for wind and photovoltaic plants across various markets.
• Implement forward-looking liquidity management and distribution planning.
• Conduct financial analyses and prepare reports for internal management, banks, and other stakeholders on renewable energy asset performance.
• Handle invoicing, leases, and external operational management contracts.
• Verify and process incoming invoices for various services, including management, insurance, electricity supply, and maintenance.
• Manage insurance, guarantee, and warranty cases.
• Assist in document and contract management, ensuring compliance and monitoring notice periods.
• Correspond with external project participants such as banks, operating companies, insurance, and accounting.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulations in the renewable energy sector.

Qualifications:

• University degree in economics, business administration, finance, accounting, or equivalent. Alternatively, completed accounting or commercial apprenticeship with relevant work experience.
• Experience in a similar role with a solar or wind farm operator or in infrastructure projects (real estate, shipping, etc.).
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Fluent in spoken/written English and German.
• Location flexibility: Germany (Berlin/Hamburg).
• Structured, independent, and diligent work approach.
• Holistic thinker with up-to-date industry knowledge and cost awareness.
