You will be a proactive contributor to the health of the planet by suppoting this company meet their sustainability goals in the form of polymers for the future!
Your role will see you researching and developing new sustainable polymers, understanding the applications and limitations of the materials and testing and optimising the process, to get the best out of the materials.
This role will suit a Polymer Process Engineer with a background and passion for materials/process development and materials trials, with the abilty to present findings and train colleagues to understand what is required. Project management skills would be advantageous to support the successful execution of the companys polymer sustainability projects.
Job Requirements
- Support the business drive towards its sustainability goals and targets
- Take a leading role in the trialling and development of core and future materials in line with business sustainability targets
- Development of new polymer technologies and processes take the lead in the hands on approach to trials and development of the divisions injection moulding processes and polymer development program
- Develop and define the processing parameters for divisional and operational use setting the standards globally in line with the business targets on sustainability.
- Deliver the Essentra injection moulding training program, enhancing all sites technical capabilities
- Take a leading role in 3D printing technologies
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Engineering degree or recognised engineering apprenticeship highly advantageous: e.g. mechanical, manufacturing, polymer technology
- Strong understanding of polymers (Bachelors degree in polymer technology or similar qualification)
- Experience in injection moulding processes. (industry recognised practical end test level qualification as a minimum)
- Experience in delivering best in practice injection moulding training modules
- Strong understanding of tooling and tooling design
- Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills
- Excellent IT skills
- Project Management experience and development skills.
- Experience of working in a multi-site manufacturing company
- A strong background in manufacturing, with a demonstrated ability to learn quickly
- Familiarity and belief in Manufacturing Excellence principles
- A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others, by developing working relationships with all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage & balance competing multiple priorities and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, cost and employee relations
