**Job Summary:**
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for executing planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance tasks on the plant, equipment, buildings, and facilities of the site. Your hands-on role will involve ensuring the optimal functioning of all operational aspects while continuously improving the sites overall performance.
**Responsibilities:**
- Diagnose faults within the machine shop environment and carry out repairs on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Conduct Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) checks on machines and equipment according to the CMMS schedule.
- Perform comprehensive site maintenance, ensuring exceptional standards across all areas and facilities.
- Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement in plant and equipment reliability.
- Adhere to strict safety and company policies while maintaining a tidy work environment.
- Fulfill additional duties as required, in line with the nature and level of the position.
**The Ideal Candidate:**
**Essential Criteria:**
- Completion of a formal, recognized apprenticeship related to the trade, endorsed by EITB, EMTA, or AMA documentation, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- Exceptional skills as a maintenance technician, specializing in mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical disciplines.
- Proven track record in diagnosing faults and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems within a machine shop environment.
- Strong understanding and application of safe working practices.
- Positive, proactive, and resilient attitude, capable of maintaining composure under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Committed to meeting deadlines and delivering quality outcomes.
- Keen eye for detail and a passion for continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ambition to progress and succeed, both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in PC literacy.
**Desirable Criteria:**
- Ability to interpret electrical/mechanical drawings or PLC systems related to hydraulic or pneumatic circuits for effective fault finding.
- Training and experience in basic electrical skills.
- Knowledge of modern maintenance philosophies such as TPM/PPM/RCM.
- Academic qualifications such as BTEC National (ONC/OND), BTEC Higher National (HNC or HND), or equivalent.
