MDE are hiring for an experienced Supplier Compliance and Development Controller to work closely with suppliers ensuring compliance to IATF and ISO standards as well as support and develop the valued supplier base to acheive compliance goals and take corrective actions for non compliance.
The role will involve working with national sites and attending supplier premises on a regular basis and therefor you should expect to be travelling to and meeting suppliers on a regular basis making use of a number of pool vehicles.
Purpose of Role
Reporting to the Purchasing Director, you will be responsible for Supplier Management and in particular, ensuring that supplier performance to our manufacturing sites is monitored and where necessary corrective action initiated with poor performing suppliers. The post holder will also ensure that we maintain the necessary checks on our supplier base for such as Supplier Certifications, Modern Slavery, Conflict Minerals etc.
Role Summary
- Work independently and as part of the wider Purchasing Team, but with key contacts being the site Quality and MP&L Teams
- Maintain IATF compliance records for Purchasing
- Monitor the IATF / ISO compliance of Suppliers
- Monitor Suppliers Procedure for such as Modern Slavery compliance/Conflict Materials etc etc
- Maintain Supplier Ratings Portals and Databases
- Chair /manage weekly supplier call (internal meeting to align plants on Supplier Quality / Supplier Delivery performance). Driving a link between the manufacturing sites MP&L, Quality Departments and Purchasing
- Escalation point for any performance recovery requirement on Quality/Delivery/ Launch Issue to the supplier base
- Produce/Maintain/Report out on KPIs
- Create Development plans for key suppliers (based on growth / turnover / risk / sustainability)
The role will suit a highly organised individual who is highly numerate and able to analyse data and present their finding, both to internal colleagues and suppliers. Applicants must be self confident and self motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills, as it will be necessary to present poor performing suppliers with challenging data. A good knowledge of Microsoft Office Products is required. A full driving licence and the ability to travel are also necessary.
Experience as an IATF Auditor with an underpinning knowledge of the associated IATF procedures is essential. Ideally, applicants should have at least 5 years in an automotive environment, as this will be a distinct advantage in evaluating Corrective Action Plans.
