Key Responsibilities:
1. **Understanding and capturing client requirements**: Engage with clients to understand their needs and translate them into specific technical requirements for shore power systems.
2. **Electrical concept design and definition**: Develop innovative and efficient electrical concepts for shore power systems, considering factors such as power distribution, voltage levels, cable routing, and system integration.
3. **Detailed design studies and calculations**: Conduct detailed design studies and perform electrical calculations to ensure the feasibility and safety of shore power systems. This includes load analysis, short-circuit calculations, voltage drop analysis, and power quality assessments.
4. **Requirements and functional specifications for bought-out systems and components**: Define the technical requirements and functional specifications for the selection and integration of essential components such as motors, drives, switchboards, transformers, energy storage systems, and cabling.
5. **Co-ordination with the Hardware Design team and review of detailed designs**: Collaborate with the Hardware Design team to ensure alignment between electrical concepts and detailed designs. Review and provide technical feedback on detailed designs produced by the team.
6. **Maintenance of the Technical Construction File**: Create and maintain a comprehensive technical construction file that documents the design, specifications, test results, and compliance with regulations and standards for shore power systems.
7. **Factory Acceptance Testing**: Plan and execute factory acceptance tests to verify the performance and functionality of shore power systems. Collaborate with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
8. **Commissioning and Site Acceptance Testing**: Participate in commissioning activities and conduct site acceptance tests to validate the proper installation, functionality, and performance of shore power systems at client sites. Resolve any technical issues or discrepancies that arise during this process.
9. **Comply with relevant industry regulations, client specifications, and internal standards**: Ensure that shore power systems adhere to applicable industry regulations, client specifications, and internal standards related to safety, performance, and environmental sustainability.
10. **Meet project milestones**: Manage project timelines and deliverables to ensure that shore power systems are designed, tested, and implemented according to project schedules.
11. **Promote and contribute to continuous improvement**: Stay updated with the latest advancements in shore power technology and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in design methodologies, processes, and system performance.
12. **Mentoring of less-experienced engineers**: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, sharing your expertise and helping them develop their technical skills in shore power system engineering.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Degree, Masters or Phd in Power Systems, Power Systems
- Experience of Marine Microgrid technology, including Power Conversion, Distributed Energy Resources, Battery Storage and grid connections for either Onshore and Offshore Off-grid power supplies
