MDE are seeking a skilled and experienced Injection Moulding Technician with expertise in operating and maintaining injection moulding machines, including robotic systems. As an Injection Moulding Technician, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing operations, ensuring the efficient and accurate production of high-quality plastic parts and will be responsible for the production team on the shift, so the role comes with a great responsibilty

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate injection moulding machines: Perform machine setup, including installing moulds, setting machine parameters, and configuring process controls. Ensure the machines are running at optimal performance levels.

• Programming and operation of robotic systems: Interface with robotic systems and program them to perform tasks such as part removal, stacking, and packaging. Ensure proper coordination between the injection moulding machine and the robots.

• Monitoring and troubleshooting: Monitor the injection moulding process, including temperature, pressure, and cycle times, to ensure product quality and machine efficiency. Identify and resolve any issues or abnormalities that may arise during production.

• Process optimisation: Continuously evaluate and improve the injection moulding process to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality. Optimise cycle times, minimise scrap and rework, and reduce downtime.

• Tooling maintenance and changes: Perform routine maintenance on injection moulds, including cleaning, lubrication, and inspection. Assist with tool changes and modifications as required.

• Quality control: Collaborate with the quality department to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications. Conduct regular inspections and measurements of finished products to ensure adherence to customer requirements.

• Documentation and record-keeping: Maintain accurate records of production data, process parameters, and any troubleshooting or maintenance activities performed. Complete production reports and documentation as necessary.

• Training and guidance: Provide training and guidance to machine operators and other technicians to ensure proper operation and maintenance of injection moulding machines and robotic systems. Share knowledge and best practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

• Safety and compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly. Follow standard operating procedures and maintain compliance with company policies.

• Continuous learning and professional development: Stay updated on the latest advancements in injection moulding technology, robotic systems, and industry best practices. Seek opportunities for training and skill enhancement to improve technical expertise.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or relevant vocational training in injection moulding are highly desirable.
• Proven experience as an Injection Moulding Technician, with expertise in operating and troubleshooting injection moulding machines.
• Strong knowledge of injection moulding processes, including machine setup, process optimization, and tooling maintenance.
• Experience in programming and operating robotic systems within an injection moulding environment is highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of quality control principles and the ability to conduct inspections and measurements.
• Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with precision.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with team members and provide training and guidance.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to maintain a safe working environment.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet production targets.
• Flexibility to work in shifts and adapt to changing production demands.
