MDE are hiring for an experience Mouldshop Manager to support operational and strategic goals within a well reputed manufacturing organisation.
We are looking for someone with determination and a proactive attitude to acheiving production targets, ensure the smooth-running of production as a result of careful planning and management, find cost effective solutions for continuous improvement on the shop floor and a leader in spirit and morale!
Main Objective of the Role
To manage the Moulding production operation. To be responsible for the control of the manufacturing processes along with involvement regarding the planning and co-ordination to ensure that goods and services are produced efficiently to the correct level of quality.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Day to day management of the Senior Process Engineer who in turn will be responsible for the day to day management of all Moulding Production staff, encompassing management of individuals workloads, staff development, performance reviews, timekeeping, disciplinary etc., in line with company policies.
- Day to Day management of the Senior Maintenance Engineer who will provide guidance and advice, when needed, to the moulding engineers which will encompass staff development, performance reviews, timekeeping, disciplinary etc., in line with company policies.
- Provide a set of measures for reporting to the senior management team on a monthly basis covering resourcing requirements, production yield against target (OEE), inventory management etc.
- Key influence on the planning function in order to have a clear, concise plan for the delivery of customer orders.
- Review current workforce, ability and structure, against business needs and prepare a development plan in order for current workforce to succeed and recruit where required.
- To oversee and establish a documented, robust production process achieving OEEs in excess of agreed targets.
- Install a housekeeping agenda and enforce it to the point where it becomes part of the culture of the production workforce.
- Key influence on Health and Safety management ensuring workforce adherence to company policy and compliance with all current legislation.
- Ensuring delivery of Production initiatives that will drive Quality improvements;
- Supporting Quality improvement programmes.
- Ensuring solutions are identified and implemented that will minimise Waste production.
- Supporting Waste improvement programmes.
- Hygiene
- Leading by example;
- Working to and within the site Hygiene rules;
- Promoting a clean as you go approach;
- Complying with 6S activities;
- Challenging non-conformance
Requirements
- Previous experience of running an injection moulding department in an established Mouldshop
- Familiar with Production KPIs and reporting
- Familiar with Injection Moulding engineering principles, processes, Health and Safety and people management
- Demonstrable experience in resource planning
