MDE are hiring for a skilled site services engineer to support a fast paced production site. You will be responsible for facilities as well as ensure production is running smoothly in both a reactive and preventative manner.
The ideal candidate will be skilled electrically and mechanically with experience of the below systems in a plant/industrial environment.
Provide key services including.
* All Water Systems & Distribution
* Steam Generation & Distribution
* Power Distribution
* Compressed Air Generation & Distribution
* Gaseous Supply - N2 & CO2
* Fire Alarm & Protection System
* Attend to any of the above as part of Breakdown or Planned Maintenance
* Collect and document all meter data for utility consumption
* Ensure that the Blends Manufacturing Plant is maintained in line with targeted KPIs and best practise methodologies.
* Record & Report findings from investigations
* Provide flexibility for cover through holidays/training/absence
* Maintain & service Engineering services to agreed schedules
* Operate to ISO 9002 & ISO 14001 standards through procedural & documentation compliance
* Support the EHS culture to create a healthy and risk-free working environment
* Commit to personal & team development through active engagement in the PDP process
* Responsible for Product Safety & Product Quality as defined by regulatory, KDC 1 - Swallowfield and local procedures
* Communicate issues in a timely manner through escalation of chain of command
* Complete factory startups and shutdowns.
* Complete maintenance work on site services and manufacturing process plant and equipment, as required.
* Carry out running repairs on equipment as needed to minimise factory downtime.
* Assist with the installation of new plant and equipment.
* Support Engineering Supervisors and Engineers through skill & knowledge
* Apply OE & CI principles to daily work activities.
* Initiate improvements that will increase site services utilisation and output and decrease wastage and other operating costs.
* Recommend/implement change to working methods as appropriate.
* Responsible for training, coaching and upskilling of Engineering staff.
* Support skills and training matrix(s) of engineering staff performing troubleshooting tasks and first fix on services plant and equipment
* Ensure issue escalation procedure is used effectively.
Required Skills and experience
- Educated to ONC/HNC in Electrical/Mechanical/Process Engineering discipline or
- A recognised apprenticeship in Engineering or Building Services, or possesses a City & Guilds qualification with relevant experience and EITB Multi Skilled.
- Site Services / Utilities experience preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar role (FMCG)
- Ability to set and reprioritise workloads
- Self starter / proactive
- Computer literate
- Ability to accurately understand and follow instructions
- Basic people handling skills with an ability to provide training to others
- Ability to accurately complete paperwork
- Ability to enter data into a CMMS system
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Working in a low tier COMAH site desirable
Ability to form working relationships with other personnel cross-functionally
