MDE are hiring for an experience Account Manager to join a thriving Automotive Manufacturing Company based in Birmingham to support the growth and adoption of new manufacturing programs.

As the Account Manager, you will be required to collaborate with a team to devise and execute Account Plans for assigned customers, with the goal of enhancing overall profitability.

Work alongside the Group Sales and Marketing Director and Sales Director to pinpoint New Business targets and implement effective strategies for attainment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a distinct presence as the primary owner of designated customer accounts, cultivating enduring relationships with decision-makers across the entire commercial spectrum. Apply strategic selling techniques to effectively manage interactions.
  • Develop and execute Account Plans for each designated customer, with a focus on maximizing profitability. Conduct monthly reviews and generate reports/actions as necessary.
  • Present Business Proposals to the Steering Committee (STC) in a timely manner aligned with customer deadlines, maintaining the highest standards in submissions.
  • Lead real-time commercial negotiations within established parameters to secure customer nominations.
  • Ensure adherence to established procedures in all aspects of costing, new business creation, and day-to-day administration.
  • Support formalized initiatives for prospecting new business in automotive manufacturing operations, identifying market intelligence, and seizing opportunities.
  • Contribute to the compilation of the Sales Forecast and Budget process, gathering key customer intelligence for accuracy.
  • Resolve operational or relationship issues within designated accounts promptly.
  • Foster the development of junior team members, promoting an engaging and participative culture.
  • Lead Sales team activities to enhance teamwork and efficiency.
  • Act as a deputy for the Group Sales & Marketing Director and Sales Director when appropriate, ensuring comprehensive awareness of all relevant commercial issues within the business.


Requirements

  • Ideally qualified to degree level.
  • At least 5 years within the Automotive Industry within a Tier 1, selling to an OEM or possibly within a Tier 2 selling to Tier 1`s.
  • Understanding of Solution Selling and Account Management.
  • Exposure to New Business Sales would be beneficial.
  • Self Motivated, enthusiastic, smartly presented and possessing gravitas.
  • Excellent communication skills in all media.
  • Highly numerate.
  • Competent on Microsoft Office.
  • Flexible approach to work and prepared to travel on business in UK and Europe.
  • Full Driving Licence.
  • Easy travelling distance to the UK based Automotive OEM`s.
