MDE are working with one of the worlds leading EPC service providers in the development, construction, and operation of solar power plants.

With an aim to advance the European energy transition and secure a clean energy supply for future generations - our client are seeking a highly talented SCADA Engineer who will play a crucial role in the design and implementation of solar and energy storage projects.

From the sales phase to construction and commissioning, you will leverage your expertise in SCADA and IT/OT to ensure the successful delivery of key projects, operating a remote position based in the UK.



Your Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Planning of SCADA systems for international large-scale solar projects from engineering to procurement to construction (EPC).
  • Definition and regular review of the technical and commercial project requirements with the project manager/client.
  • Collecting requirements for system monitoring and control, managing this data and creating specifications and plans (EPlan) for system monitoring.
  • Assessment, planning and implementation of IT/OT requirements.
  • Clarification of technical details with customers and supplier.
  • Project management from A to Z for all SCADA topics.
  • Ensuring the successful and timely commissioning of the system monitoring and control.
  • Supporting technicians in field operations.
  • Review and acceptance of engineering designs from external parties.
  • Providing engineering and technical expertise and guidance in identifying, analysing and resolving project challenges.
  • Support the construction department in the implementation, during the project realization phase.
  • Create and maintain a pool of qualified outsourcing services able to provide engineering services (designs, testing, assessments, etc.).
  • Work as the main contact point in communication and coordination of technical matters.
  • Close exchange with colleagues in layout design, purchasing, project development, project management and the subsidiaries.
  • Support the companys goals and represent the company positively and professionally.
  • Adhere to all Company policies/procedures and business ethics codes including the anti-bribery policy and QHSE policy.



Skills Required for this role:

  • Enthusiasm for decarbonization and renewable energy
  • Completed technical studies in electrical engineering, computer science, or vocational training as an electrical engineer/IT specialist
  • Several years of professional experience in electrical engineering or information technology
  • Practical experience in SCADA, telemetry, or power plant control technology
  • Proven project management experience
  • Nice-to-have: experience within the renewable industry, including battery energy storage systems (BESS)
  • Nice-to-have: strong knowledge of industrial communication technology, particularly Modbus
  • Nice-to-have: experience with electrical and network system planning and implementation
  • Nice-to-have: familiarity with EPlan software
  • Independent team player with a practical approach and high-quality standards
  • Innovative mindset
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and solve problems
  • Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders at various levels
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Structured and organized work methodology
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK without requiring a visa
