This a fantastic opportunitiy to join an already established developer deploy more renewables projects, the candidate can be recently out of university with a thirst to engage in the renewables transition. On the other hand, candidates with strong experience of grid development are also highly sought after.

MDE are supporting a leading global developer of renewable energy projects, founded 10 years ago they develop largescale solar and BESS projects across Europe and North America. Due to their focus on quality, efficency and dedication to the environment they are well known for delivering high spec projects.

This opportunity is welcoming a talented and self-motivated individual to join the team as a Grid Developer working on grid connection opportunities across a range of large scale renewable technologies. Desired qualities include being highly organised with strong analytical and problem solving skills with a passion to build a career in renewable energy. For the right candidate, there is potential for this role to grow and develop according to their interests and abilities.

On a day-to-day working with internal colleagues you will:

• Carry out Technical, analytical, problem solving, and project management tasks related to ongoing projects.
• Identify and assess grid connection opportunities for renewable energy projects.
• Apply for grid connections with the respective network operator
• Work with external parties such as network operators and independent connection providers to define the best technical and cost-effective connection solutions.
• Track and report internally on the progress of each grid connection opportunity

Essential

• A degree, or equivalent, in electrical engineering, engineering, science or related discipline; or equivalent work experience
• Experience or interest in renewable energy
• Highly organised with good time-management skills
• Self-motivated, able to manage own workload and clearly communicate progress
• Excellent numerical, analytical and problem solving skills
• Confident communicator in English, both written and verbal
• Positive attitude and willing to get stuck into a range of varied tasks and projects
• Right to work in the UK

Desirable

• Experience working in electricity distribution and/or transmission in Great Britain
• Experience working with National Grid (Transmission) and/or DNOs as a stakeholder (ICP, Developer etc)
• Experience in the application process for large scale embedded generation (ENA G99)
• Experience using advanced functions of Google Sheets and other GSuite software
• Experience with Google Earth and GIS, particularly QGIS
• Project management experience or interest
