MDE are supporting a large scale commercial solar installation organisation find a leading figure to head their procurement team. The purpose of this role is to oversee and manage the current procurement team with day to day operations and support smooth project delivery on time and on budget whilst respecting good procurement practices. With a key objective to redefine their procurement strategy and process to enable them to deliver on the organic growth they have seen in recent years, this person must be savvy and have strong prior experience in procurement.
With a team of close to 70, this organisation is structured to meet the ever rising demand of large scale rooftop solar in the UK. This position will be leading a team across multiple offices, in a hybrid capacity and will be instrumental in senior management decision making.

Responsibilities
- Liaise with the Procurement Manager on a daily basis.
- Assist with site setup procurement when necessary.
- Be available to liaise with project managers and offer assistance with project procurement needs.
- Review and streamline current procurement systems and processes.
- Review existing pricing structures with key suppliers and explore market alternatives if necessary.
- Aim to implement the most sustainable procurement practices and approaches while maintaining a commercial perspective.
- Demonstrate effective procurement across the department, referencing a range of KPIs and targets.
Required
- Experience implementing procurement processes and systems.
- Great organisation skills
- Skilled with Ms packages, especially Excel
- Great relationship management.
