Utility-scale Solar PV Project Manager
South of England
£65,000-£70,000 + benefits + bonus + car allowance
As a project manager you will guide the construction process and oversee internal teams through developmental, constructional, commissioning, and turnover phase to operations. The Project Manager will participate in formulating EPC scopes for projects nearing construction and are responsible for planning and monitoring ongoing construction. Effective management of multiple projects and regular inspections of construction milestones, progress, and budget adherence are crucial. Collaborating with the internal Health and Safety Team is essential for ensuring compliance at project sites.
Main responsibilities
- Form and lead a high-performing team, ensuring a positive work environment.
- Define RFPs and scope of work for EPC firms, participate in subcontractor selection and negotiation.
- Procure programs of work and align team objectives with department and company goals.
- Conduct due diligence on potential solar sites, evaluate suitability, and participate in due diligence reviews.
- Act as Project Manager for EPC on distributed generation and utility PV solar projects in the UK.
- Manage design review, change management processes, and facilitate permitting and approval processes.
- Oversee construction phase, ensuring deliverables meet standards and addressing any issues.
- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with contract terms and delivering contractual requirements.
Essential Requirements
- 6-8 years experience in a project management role
- 4 years working within EPC construction with technical knowledge across civil, electrical and structural disciplines
- At least 2 years working as a Project Manager on utility-scale renewable projects in the UK
- Be able to demonstrate strong proficiency with Excel, CPM scheduling, Microsoft project OR Primavera P6
- Be a strong communicator
- Have experience liaising with various contractors
- Be experienced managing budgets and P&L of construction projects
- Be willing to commute to sites anywhere in the UK as required
