MDE are currently looking for a Business Development Manager with a strong understanding of Industrial Automation, Robotics and Controls systems to develop new business relationships, generate and negotiate new income to an agreed annual target, to increase year on year, reporting directly to the Sales Director
Travel will be a major factor and overnight stops may be required. Overseas travel can be expected from time to time.

Job Responsibilities
- Present our client to potential customers through direct or digital communication
- Provide a high quality service to potential and existing customers
- Maintain the Companys reputation as a leading edge systems integrator
- Responsible for generation of new leads and making suitable appointments. Motivated to ensure all sales opportunities are explored
- Travel will be a major factor and overnight stops may be required. Overseas travel can be expected from time to time
- Successful management of the sales process from lead generation, pitching our client, asking questions, pitching the solution, negotiating and closing the order through to handing over a project to the Engineering team and kick-off meeting with customer
- Prepare proposals and specifications with the full support of the Sales Applications team and in accordance with company procedures
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of issues affecting system integrator companies and the drives, digital and automation industry. Maintain an awareness of competitor activities
- Representing our client at industry events and tradeshows in order to gain new business leads and contacts
- Comply with all relevant standards and work to the Companys ISO9001 & ISO14001 registered
- To comply with all Company procedures as defined in various documents including the Quality Manual, Staff Manual and Health & Safety Manual
- Be pro-active in supporting other company activities such as supporting colleagues
- To maintain good relationships with customers, suppliers and company staff
- Other duties as required
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Preferably qualified to degree level in Engineering
- A minimum of five years previous experience in a similar role
- A knowledge of systems integration incorporating Variable Speed Drives, PLCs, Robotics, and SCADA/HMI products, MES/MIS, Simulation, Smart solutions and autonomous mobile applications
- Proven track record in selling solutions to a variety of industrial applications
- Have established customer contacts at senior level
