Overview:
MDE are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure the process and MMS Procedures within the Quality Department are followed and maintained in line with the Quality Standards.
Shift Pattern:
- Monday - Thursday (8am - 17.15pm)
- Friday (8am - 12pm)

Major Responsibilities:
- Create detailed plans to meet business plan and department objectives and monitor and report progress and ensure problems are identified and resolved without impacting on the target.
- Analyse daily vendor performance data and proactively lead supplier improvement activities
- Raise and review CARs in a timely manner and co-ordinate internal departmental or external supplier meetings to effectively resolve quality problems and issue minutes with defined actions and timeframes.
- Carry out supplier visits to audit the effectiveness and CAR countermeasures and lead successful implementation of projects to improve quality/capability/productivity whilst reducing variability using six sigma methodology and lean techniques.
- Proactively introduce process improvements to improve component quality and workplace efficiency.
- Analyse supplier daily defect data and lead comprehensive investigations to identify root cause failure mode, cause of occurrence and cause of outflow using 8D methodology.
- Drive SQE-related activities within new product introduction (NPI) process to understand design intent and technical requirements and to ensure SQE NPI deliverables on supplier and part qualification are accurate and delivered on time.
- Supervise the daily work and output within the section and report the result against agreed targets and KPIs daily. Ensure an effective inspection, containment and rework function is provided to ensure component quality and prevent production downtime.
- Ensure all relevant document processes are followed by conducting third step checks and compliance auditing.
