Quality Goods Inspector - Birmingham, West Midlands

Overview:

MDE are looking for a Quality Good Inspector to join a growing Quality team as a goods Inward Inspector on a permanent basis, ensure incoming & KD parts are inspected to the required Quality standards and a timely and accurate inspection of externally supplied components and inspection of KD parts.

Shift Pattern:

• Monday - Thursday (8am - 17.15pm)
• Friday (8am - 12pm)

Major Responsibilities:

• Carry out daily inspection of incoming and KD parts in line with relevant sampling plans and MMS procedures.
• Collect daily vendor returns from work centres ensuring the correct reject code is used and co-ordinate month end vendor return or authorised disposal.
• Use appropriate gauges and measuring instruments to ensure accurate and repeatable measurements are taken.
• Conduct visual inspections using sample parts and approved master samples.
• Maintain inspection records in an accurate and timely manner
• Access databases to confirm any changes to component supply or inspection criteria.
• Containment of non-conforming products.
• Administration duties: SCARs, review of inspection criteria for new parts, component switching levels.

• Demonstrate an attitude of continuous improvement and co-operation.
• Take on other reasonable tasks when requested by the Department Manager.
• Ensure the department is clean & tidy promoting 5S activity.
• Communicate and report effectively on the progress of activities under your administration.
• Ensure any problems that may threaten production are escalated immediately.
