Role: Surface Grinder

Salary: £14ph - £16ph

Hours of work: 8am - 4:30 Monday to Thursday 8am - 12pm Friday

Location; Wednesbury

MDE are currently looking for Surface Grinder to join and Aerospace manufacturer in the Wednesbury area.

This is a great opportunity to join an enthusiastic and experienced team within a state-of-the-art machining facility.

The successful candidate will:

Be a skilled grinder, preferably with experience on Jones & Shipman 540 1400 540X &1400X series surface grinders
Be able to meet tight deadlines and work in a high-pressure machining environment
Have the ability to use their initiative to overcome problems and resolve production issues
Be an exceptional team player and good communicator
Have excellent standards and good attention to detail
Be prepared to get their hands dirty
Be willing to work overtime and extra hours as required to complete the task at hand and keep production flowing

Duties will include:

Working with Jones & Shipman 540 1400 540X &1400X series surface grinders
Using specialist carbon brush making machinery (full training will be given for these machines)
Reading engineering drawings
Measurement and inspection
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
