Role: Production Supervisor

Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 (Including shift allowance)

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 2.45pm - 11pm

Location: Buckingham

MDE are currently looking for a Production Supervisor to join a leading manufacturer of high-end products for the worlds leading performance and luxury Automotive brands.

Key Responsibilities:

Shift operational responsibility for Assembly, Moulding, Aluminising, Coating & Anti-fog including the following:

  • Organisation of all manpower to achieve the daily production & activity plan.
  • Organisation of all Technicians to achieve the daily production & activity plan.
  • Organisation of all Team Leaders to achieve all daily & weekly plans.
  • Raising Tool or Maintenance tickets and escalating concerns to the Manufacturing Manager as appropriate.
  • Liaise with the Production Planner to understand schedule position and constraints.
  • Supporting on calls and escalation within the shift.
  • Maintain personnel records for all staff on a daily, weekly & monthly basis.
  • Drive and monitor internal zone flexibility and skill.
  • Manage and mentor shop floor training of new workers through a managed on-the-job training programme..
  • Isolation, stock control and inspection of quality related concerns including Quality Alert sharing.
  • Maintain daily 5S standards within operational zones through the coordination of the Team Leaders.
  • Effective handover of all information to the following shift and receipt of handover from the previous shift.
  • Weekly feedback to Manufacturing Manager on operators attendance and punctuality
  • Create EOS report:
  • Review all production performance sheets with team leader mid-shift and at end of shift.
  • Create EOS report and provide them to Manufacturing Manager.
  • Review EOS sheets following day with T/L and discuss points raised by Manufacturing Manager.

Responsibility for the following Assembly, Mould Shop & Aluminising KPIs:

  • Production downtime.
  • Technician downtime.
  • Tool change plan vs actual [time].
  • Provide accurate zone and shift headcount to Production Manager daily, and advise on shortages/requirements.

Health & Safety responsibilities:

  • Continual review of gangways and fire exits are clear for use and free of debris.
  • Once daily audit of operator workstations and area safety Inc. tooling & equipment.
  • Accidents, near-miss reports to be completed within reasonable timeframe.
  • Root cause analysis with appropriate countermeasures to be initiated and monitored for affectability.

Process

  • Two operators per day, audit of process confirmation against job pack conformance.
  • Once per shift first-off part quality standard audit, all tool changes on all machines.
  • Weekly 5S audit.
  • Weekly safety audit.
  • Weekly process audit.

Area

  • Weekly review of Manufacturing Manager 5S audit, with results and corrective action plan.
  • Weekly review of Manufacturing Manager Safety audit, with results and corrective action plan.
  • Weekly review of Manufacturing Manager Process audit, with results and corrective action plan.

Improvement activities.

  • Mentor staff and pro-actively assist development of all improvement activities on all zones.
  • Escalation procedure to be followed in line with procedures.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years previous experience at a supervisory level.
  • 5 years experience in a plastic component production environment.
  • Management and Leadership experience.
  • Injection Moulding expertise.
  • Previous experience of Quality and Environmental systems and procedures.
  • Previous experience of implementing SMED (*_Single-Minute Exchange of Dies_).*
  • Capable of driving and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Previous experience of handling chemical substances and hazardous waste.
  • Experience with Microsoft office, excel, word, PowerPoint.
  • Good presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience of dealing with disciplinary and grievance issues.
  • Be an effective communicator with other departments within the organisation.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Approachable personality.
  • Good Team player
