MDE are currently looking for an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to join a leading manufacturing facility in the Oxfordshire area.
We are looking for someone who has the experience and ability to operate across the full data lifecycle, providing enterprise level data architecture solutions for the programmes and data domains across the business.
The ideal candidate will:
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouses
- Define the data architecture framework, standards, and principles, including modelling, metadata, security, reference data such as product codes and client categories, and master data such as clients, vendors, materials, and employees
- Define reference architecture, which is a pattern others can follow to create and improve data systems
- Define data flows, i.e., which parts of the organization generate data, which require data to function, how data flows are managed, and how data changes in transition
- Collaborate and coordinating with multiple cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors for the smooth functioning of the enterprise data system.
- Design models of data processing that implement the intended business model
- Develop diagrams representing key data entities and their relationships
- Generate a list of components needed to build the designed system
- Communicate clearly, simply, and effective
- Provide a standard common business vocabulary, which expresses strategic requirements and outlines high-level integrated designs to meet those requirements. All of this will align with the enterprise strategy and related business architecture.
- Visualize and design the businesses data management framework.
- Understand our business needs, explores the existing data structure, and creates a blueprint for building an integrated framework of easily accessible, secure data aligned with business strategy.
Preferably you will have:
- Previous experience as a Data Architect or Solutions Architect is essential
- Data Warehouse experience - designing Data Warehouse schemes (Data Vault, 3NF Model) and Data Mart Schemes (Dimensional model)
- Experience integrating data from disparate sources
- Experience in Agile development methodologies
- Proficiency in Data Governance practices and experience
- Experience designing business intelligence solutions with Azure technologies
- The ablity to gather requirements from both IT and Business partners
- Proficiency in data modelling and design, including SQL development and database administration
- Understanding of predictive modelling, NLP and text analysis, Machine Learning
- Ability to design solutions incorporating common data management and reporting technologies, as well as the basics of columnar and NoSQL databases, data visualization, unstructured data, and predictive analytics.
- Data mining, visualization, and Machine Learning skills
- Effective communication, team management, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Experience and are comfortable working with autonomy and in an environment where there is constant interruptions
- Understanding of multicultural and diverse working environments - across continents, religions, local working practices, beliefs
- Experience in setting up architecture processes and implementing IT governance
- Experience managing change to legacy architectures
