The Sustainable Development Impact (SDI) Analyst will report directly to the SDI Manager, playing a pivotal role in comprehending and articulating the potential impact of new projects or investments before our client commits funds. Additionally, the SDI Analyst will be tasked with compiling crucial impact data to generate precise and timely reports.

Responsibilities

The SDI Analysts duties include:

  • Assisting our client in realizing their SDI, climate, gender, and disability ambitions.
  • Offering guidance and support to the Business Development and Investment teams to ensure accurate capture of the impact of opportunities in investment papers, with a specific focus on gender, climate, and disability.
  • Orchestrating the completion of SDI Scorecards and any other necessary materials for the SDI review of new projects, managing data requirements to secure SDI Clearance in Principle and Endorsement Notes.
  • Conducting desktop research or analysis to substantiate impact assumptions or baselines during due diligence or project development.
  • Collaborating with projects to complete and update a Results Monitoring Sheet when a project/investment achieves key milestones, and tracking the achievement of the expected impact of a project.
  • Coordinating an annual review of all active SDI Scorecards and Results Monitoring Sheets, scrutinizing submissions from projects, validating data points, and addressing any questions/issues raised by them.
  • Collaborating with Finance, Compliance, and HSES teams to aggregate information from across our business for the completion and coordination of monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Partnering with project and investment teams to track and forecast commitments, managing country and sector exposure limits with risk, and updating reports and databases accordingly.
  • Contributing to the evolution of our clients SDI frameworks, processes, and systems as an integral part of the functional team.

Your Experience and Qualifications

We anticipate that you will:

  • Possess a relevant degree with a robust analytical or research component, preferably with a focus on International Development.
  • Exhibit a keen interest in international development and Africa.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how infrastructure supports international development and contributes to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Display a tangible interest in climate and inclusion, encompassing gender and disability.
  • Showcase highly developed interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively collaborate within a virtual international team.
