Technical Build Manager - London

The role reports into the Chief Operating Officer and in this position you will be responsible for ensuring that the delivery of EV charging infrastructure is designed, installed and programme managed to the correct specifications to deliver excellent customer satisfaction. You will also be responsible for driving a value engineering approach, working with installation, hardware and software partners and vendors to design the most cost effective, tailored solution, delivered on time.

The business is currently based in Hammersmith (but we are likely to move in 2022/23). The position is full time office based, however, as with every other business today, much is being done in a hybrid model with some working from home, which we expect may continue for a while yet. This is subject to change, with Government guidelines and company policy dictating.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages/responsible for design, delivery, commissioning, reporting all and any key issues and considerations, that might have a negative impact to the Leadership Team.
- Develops close working relationship with build partners and suppliers to ensure a smooth delivery which is both on time and to budget.
- Develops close working relationship with LA and other stakeholders to ensuring all necessary approvals are in place to allow works to commence.
- Support the wider team and be the go-to person for all technical knowledge of installing EV charge points
- Support strategic & commercial evaluation of various products and projects in terms of identifying the right technical performance & compatibility with our offerings
- Feed any requested/agreed information to the PMO Team within the agreed timeframe.
- Delivery of all required project metrics/reports to the required standards and in a timely fashion.
- Support the project from a Heath & Safety prospect, ensuring the project is being delivered safely and in line will all and any regulations set out by the HSE
Key Success Factors
- Project managing end-to-end delivery of clients charging requirements including design, hardware, installation, software and maintenance, delivering right first time, on time and at the agreed cost
- Supporting the Chief Operating Officer and the wider team with comprehensive technical guidance.
- Work seamlessly with individuals across all teams to understand the latest updates on all activities within the design, planning and build/installation phases.
Qualifications and Education
- SSSTS/SSMTS holder (Ideally).
- Hold relevant electrical engineering qualifications (apprenticeship / City & Guilds / NVQ / 17th/18th Edition etc.).
- A higher qualification in Electrical, Electronic or Systems Engineering (Ideally).
- Certified electrical engineer NICEIC or equivalent (Ideally).
- Full Driving License.

- Good computer and literacy skills including Windows based software programmes Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Experience of delivering quality projects and programmes at pace, utilising innovation and continuous improvement.
- A commercial mind-set; highly numerate; able to quickly appraise the business opportunity and understand potential value, risks and trade-offs
Experience
- Proven experience: as a Technical Manager in the UK, ideally within a similar sized business or one that has been through a similar journey
- Ideally the candidate would have proven experience in electric vehicle infrastructure deployment.
- Experience of delivering quality projects and programmes at pace, utilising innovation and continuous improvement
- Knowledge of working in the public highways.
- Experience with working with local DNOs.
- Knowledge of The Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation (IET)
- Extensive experience in the Installation, Maintenance and/or design of both HV and LV electrical installations, ideally this included EV charging equipment experience
- Experience of document control/management.
- Experience in delivering a programmes/plans using supply chain.
