The business divides into two divisions - Real Assets (Forestry, New Energy & Sustainable Infrastructure, Housing) and Strategic Equity (Public Equity, Private Equity)
Role objective
To transition from a world powered by finite resources to a new energy world powered by renewables while creating sustainable long-term returns, the O&M division supports the New Energy Team. Notwithstanding regulatory uncertainties and challenging risks, the team makes investments in the fast-evolving energy sector.
Solar, wind, energy storage, and electric transportation are the four revolutionary technologies that are the focus of investments. A strong asset base, a dependable income yield, and the possibility of capital growth all support returns.
This crucial operational position will provide you first-hand knowledge of the fast changes the UK energy market is undergoing. In this changing climate as well as the specialised alternative asset management environment within the O&M sector, there is significant room for professional and personal growth.
Key responsibilities / accountabilities
- To work closely with the O&M manager to support the O&M team in achieving strong HSQE standards across our portfolio.
- Carry out scheduled reactive and preventative maintenance.
- To assist other teams when needed.
- Conduct any necessary site inspections across the portfolio.
- Support the Asset Management team across a variety of disciplines to guarantee the best possible performance for all assets.
- Post reports following each site inspection (Monthly or reactive)
- Employ SCADA to keep an eye on the condition of the managed BESS assets.
- Recognize failures and suggest fixes for ongoing issues affecting availability.
- Monitor PAC, IAC, and FAC processes abilities and experience
- Experience within renewables is desired but not mandatory - training will be provided
- Fully licenced electrician (AM2, NVQ Level 3 electrical certification,18th edition, CSCS or JIB Card).
- Competent HV AP (desired).
- SMSTS, IOSH, or another equivalent.
- Understanding of network architecture (e.g., LAN, routers, switches).
- The capacity to handle a portfolio of assets with little oversight.
- Prior knowledge with Microsoft Office and IAuditor is helpful. BESS system knowledge is preferred but not required.
- Expertise with diesel or gas engines is preferred but not required.
