Job objective:

My client is a nation leader in the manufacturing of Solar invertors. They are committed to making the transition to renewable energy as seamless and efficient as possible. My client believes that the future of energy production is in renewables, and we are at the forefront of this industry, developing high-quality solar inverters that are reliable, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly. They are currently seeking a senior field service engineer to join their team working on commercial and utility scale solar.

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for maintaining commercial inverters and contracted sites in the field. Duties include commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and analyzing industrial & commercial inverter applications of customer site PV systems as well as ensuring on time quality reporting. The Senior Expert aspect provides 2nd level support in EMEA capacity on all utility products as well as the commercial.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working within the 3 in 1 concept:
  • 2nd level support for EMEA on all Large-Scale Projects products with a focus on High Voltage /Medium Voltage products
  • Carry out training sessions for field service engineers or company partners and providers
  • Feedback: Analysis of Service cases on behalf of training needs or product improvements
  • Analysis of complex faults in PV-plants from office or on-site
  • discussion with the Regional Senior Experts of top issues in the market and feedback to regional competence center manager
  • Support implementation of Bluenotes in the sub region West Europe
  • First contact person for field test of new products in the sub region West Europe / UK
  • Answers incoming customer calls and processes customer queries and error messages sent to the service line at our subsidiary (ad hoc basis)
  • Provides instant customer support so that issues on solar inverters systems for plants easily be resolved from a remote location.
  • Provides independent on-site commissioning, maintenance, and repair of inverters for photovoltaic plants.
  • Maintains the highest safety standards in the workplace and on-site.
  • Documents service cases, records issues in IT tools and provides regular reporting to Head of Field Service Central Europe
  • On an Ad-hoc basis, you will be required to handle services, including managing sub- contractors and site-specific tasks to be flexible and available, should the need arise for weekend on call / standby

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Requires 17th Edition certification / Bachelors degree or any educational training in the electrotechnical field
  • Has at least three years of experience in professional customer service and in installation, repair or maintenance of electrical plants or other installations in the field of power electronics
  • Ideally has very good knowledge of high voltage and measurement equipment as well as occupational health and safety regulations - Previous Solar PV maintenance experience
  • Must be proficient using MS Office and SAP, and a basic understanding of IP network technology
  • Has a Class B drivers license
  • Is willing and flexible to travel nationally and attend training in Germany as required - Provide support overseas if required
  • Has very good English language skills; second language skills would be an asset.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to interact with customers in a positive and professional manner combined with good independent work skills

Training:

  • Basic training up to 2 months in different slots in our headquarters in Niestetal, Germany - Delta trainings / refresher 2 to 4 weeks a year in our headquarters in Niestetal, Germany
