Job Title: Lead Electrician/Supervisor
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
Overview:
We are working with a leading company in the renewables space, who specialise in the design, supply, installation and financing of renewable energy solutions and energy efficiency projects.
They are part of a larger group who have been around for over 30 years who focus on delivering high quality services in the sustainable markets of social housing, public buildings, education, energy services and industrial and commercial buildings, including heating, EV charging, smart metering, renewable energy generation, reduction, and battery storage solutions predominantly within the public sector.
The role:
- We are seeking experienced and quality-driven Solar PV electricians to be part of a team of Solar PV installers.
- This is a hands on role primarily on new build domestic properties, but with flexibility to assist on social housing and commercial projects where required.
- We are looking for electricians with a positive can-do attitude and a strong work ethic with a proven record in domestic solar installation.
- This role will be the team lead, initially working in a team of two with a Solar Installer, but as the contract grows, expanding to be the lead in a growing team of Solar PV installers. grows.
- The projects will involve the installation of roof mounted panels, working closely with Cor-Energys Project and Construction Managers.
- The role will include the scoping, planning of internal resource and/or external contractors to help deliver projects from inception through to successful completion.
- The position is regionally based, but travel to other contracts throughout the UK may be required on occasion.
- The ideal candidate will be an initiative-taking team player with the communication skills, energy and focus to manage and support busy projects.
- A good all-rounder who can supervise projects on-site with minimal supervision, whilst flourishing under pressure and thriving when faced with challenge.
Desired Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Full UK driving licence.
- A comprehensive understanding of electrical installations, testing & inspection.
- An understanding of commercial-scale solar PV systems is desirable (but not essential)
- Ideally 2 years at a supervisor/management level
- JIB approved electrician
- SMSTS (essential)
- SSSTS (desirable, not essential)
- Gold ECS card
- First Aid
- Pasma
- IPAF
- 18th Edition
- City & Guilds 2391 inspection and testing (or equivalent)
- Engineering technical excellence and pride in work / project outcomes
- Strong engineering thinking
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise well.
- Strong attention to detail, accurate and methodical in work to overcome challenges and see projects through to completion.
- Ability to deal with complex tasks under pressure.
- Clear communicator, confident in communicating and influencing at all levels.
- Ability to build relationships and a good rapport with colleagues and clients to generate confidence.
- Experienced Excel user (preferred, but not essential)
