In this role, youll play a crucial part in our Sun-to-Wheel ecosystem, working with cutting-edge hybrid solar and battery farms, leading electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and an innovative electric vehicle leasing program. Role Overview:
Join our client in this newly created role within the Engineering team, where youll support the Lead Energy Storage Engineer and contribute to our sustainable energy projects. Your responsibilities will include commissioning, testing, compliance, and technical input into various project aspects, directly impacting their mission to rapidly decarbonize transportation while ensuring equity and affordability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site energy storage commissioning and testing activities, ensuring compliance with the latest standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external parties, and contribute to contract technical schedules and proposals.
- Participate in due diligence processes, document management, and supplier quality and safety compliance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors and suppliers.
- Promote company values, contribute to department procedures, and ensure compliance with environmental and quality management systems.
Skills/Experience Required:
- Meaningful experience in static energy storage, electric vehicles, or the relevant renewable/power industry.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering.
- Understanding of battery chemistries, energy storage balance of plant technology, and use-cases (UK).
- Knowledge of relevant standards, key battery storage performance characteristics, and communication architectures.
- Strong teamwork, analytical skills, and excellent IT and organizational abilities.
- Self-driven, results-oriented, and safety-conscious.
- Valid UK Drivers License.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in performance/data analysis, testing/commissioning of BESS assets, and electrical design.
- Familiarity with BESS vendors and contractual technical aspects (KPIs, test methods, LDs, warranty norms, etc.).
- Experience in technical/design project management.
