Project Accounting Manager
Salary: £45-55,000 pa
Location: London / Hybrid working
My client is one of the worlds leading EPC service providers in the development, construction, and operation of solar power plants. The Germany based company was founded in 2001 and has developed into an international company with around 500 employees in five different countries since. To date, my client has installed over 480 PV systems with a total output of more than 4 GW worldwide. As one of the worlds largest O&M service providers, the solar energy specialist also takes care of operation and maintenance for a capacity of 1,7 GW of PV plants. My clients goal is to advance the European energy transition and to guarantee a clean energy supply for future generations.
They are seeking a motivated Project Accountant to join their UK Business Unit to support the finance function with general project accounting duties. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and exciting global Renewable Energy leader. Key Responsibilities
- Project Set-up
- Project monitoring including being responsible for the timely and accurate recording, preparation and presentation of project financial information
- Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of all financial information presented at the Monthly Project reviews
- POC calculations
- Provide ongoing financial advice and support to the Project Managers and their team.
- Responsible for ensuring that costs to complete and their assumptions are properly supported and disclosed. Ensure that project financial forecasts are aligned with project programmes.
- Ensure that project risks and opportunities, mitigation plans and savings plans are properly calculated and disclosed at the project reviews.
- Ensure that project cash flow is managed in the best interest of the business.
- Validating invoices
- Updating of project plans
- Reconciliations of project variances, WIP and invoicing
- Analysis of project costs against budget
- Set-up and manage project trackers in Excel
- Reporting and Ad-hoc queries
- To undertake any other duties as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy customer needs
Skills Required
The ideal candidate for this Project Accountant role will be someone part-qualified on ACCA/CIMA or AAT. However, you could also be a recent graduate or further-education leaver (with a Finance related course) with an interest in starting a career in Finance/accounting, or an individual with previous experience in a similar Project Finance role. You will demonstrate an eagerness to learn and develop in a varied role that will require you to adapt and manage in a changing environment. The successful candidate will have:
