We are looking for a skilled and proactive Material Handling Engineer
Job Description
- Design and optimize manual and automated material handling systems (e.g., conveyors, storage systems, AGVs, cranes, packaging stations).
- Develop layouts and detailed engineering drawings using CAD tools.
- Analyze workflows and logistics data to enhance material flow, reduce bottlenecks, and improve productivity.
- Specify and evaluate material handling equipment and vendors based on performance, cost, and safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, procurement, logistics, and maintenance.
- Lead or support implementation of material handling projects from concept to commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and internal engineering standards.
- Prepare cost estimates, project schedules, and risk assessments.
- Support development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials.
- Conduct root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Create detailed reports on material handling system performance.
- The role also includes delivering high-quality documentation, equipment specifications, and project implementation plans in line with operational goals
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, or a related field
- Extensive relevant work experience can compensate for lack of formal education
- Minimum 3 years of experience in material handling system design and implementation, preferably within energy or oil & gas projects
- Knowledge of Danish legislation and offshore regulations is an advantage
- Familiarity with DNV standards is highly valued, but not a strict requirement
- Experience with EPC and EPCIC project models, including supplier follow-up during engineering and execution phases
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across disciplines and vendors
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Danish language skills are a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Experience with 3D modelling and CAD tools
