The Electrical & Instrument Inspector is responsible for ensuring that the construction installation for Hull & Topside has been completed to the approved specification, class, and Flage State requirements, regulatory bodies, approved drawings and contracts.
Job Description
- Ensure daily compliance with laws, regulations, and contractual requirements, focusing on health, safety, environment, and equipment care.
- Promote HSE awareness and advise on health and safety during fabrication, installation, and mechanical completion.
- Monitor contractors' MC installation and testing activities for EIT systems.
- Track MCCR status and outstanding check sheets for timely subsystem handover to commissioning per project schedule.
- Contribute to punch list resolution and strategy for subsystem handover.
- Follow up on ATEX inspections, problem-solving, and informing engineering and compliance teams on issues.
- Ensure activities are planned, performed, and documented per project specs and company technical requirements.
- Inspect and document material receipts for EIT equipment, focusing on preservation.
- Collaborate with the inspection team on technical info, standards, regulations, and practices.
- Foster a positive working relationship between Contractor’s and Company’s teams.
- Assist site team inspectors and participate in construction activities as needed.
- Maintain and archive inspection reports and track records for electrical, instrument, and telecom systems.
- Attend morning toolbox talks at yards and contribute important HSE inputs.
- Monitor daily fabrication progress and quality.
- Ensure materials, equipment, and personnel skills meet required standards and qualifications.
- Participate in inspections and testing as needed.
Qualification Requirements
- Knowledge and experience with international shipbuilding standards and class societies' requirements.
- Knowledge and experience with offshore production facilities standards
- Minimum 8 years of experience within Electrical & Instrument Inspections.
- Both low and high voltage equipment and systems
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- The ability to accomplish tasks within time and cost limits.
- The ability to cooperate in a multi-cultural environment
- Grasps essential details and can act on incomplete data
- Demonstrate teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Recent relevant experience in Middle East/Southeast Asian shipyards is an advantag.e
- Recent experience of working on modification projects and/or FPSO redeployment is strongly desired
- Recent relevant experience of North Sea project execution is an advantage.
