For a project in Dubai/Aberdeen, we are looking for a Commissioning Mech/Utility Firewater System Engineer
Job Description
Ensure that relevant activities within the discipline align with the company framework, contract, Yard Execution Plan, and applicable regulations.
Safeguard the health and safety of personnel, the natural and working environment, and equipment.
Act in accordance with Altera’s core values and HSE program; serve as Altera’s representative for Commissioning discipline performance to ensure activities follow the plan and are executed in cooperation with the project team.
Foster strong cooperation, communication, and alignment between the base organization and the project.
Collaborate with the PDE operations team and client to ensure clear scope of work guidance and clarifications are provided.
Work with JV Yard organization, Altera Construction Team, and Client to ensure compliance and perform necessary verification activities.
Contribute to establishing a Commissioning network in the Project Completion System (PIMS CMS) as a basis for planning and managing Commissioning activities.
Ensure timely planning and execution of Commissioning activities.
Contribute to the Management of Change process and project risk workshops; identify and follow up on relevant risks and mitigation actions.
Coordinate and support Construction and Commissioning interfaces across all disciplines, including engineering and contractors.
Drive the development and implementation of Commissioning activities for the FPSO project.
Responsible for verification and approval of IDC comments for assigned commissioning systems.
Prepare commissioning dossiers and procedures for Mechanical/Utility systems.
Participate in the handover process from Commissioning to Operations for all assigned Mechanical and Utility systems.
Take part in work pack reviews and contribute to the preparation of work packs.
Participate in design reviews, HAZIDs, HAZOPs, and other relevant safety studies.
Report any delays in progress under own area of responsibility to the Commissioning Mechanical/Utility Lead.
Attend meetings, inspections, and tri-party walkdowns.
Collaborate closely with other key disciplines in the Engineering Team; request support from discipline resources as needed.
Responsible for preparation and testing of the Deluge system.
Perform other duties as required by the Commissioning Mechanical/Utility Lead.
Qualification Requirements
Technical education at Bachelor level or equivalent experience.
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience within operations, project execution, and Commissioning.
Previous experience from the Knarr Project for Mechanical and Utility systems is a major advantage.
Operating experience from both the Norwegian continental shelf and international projects is considered a strong advantage.
Relevant experience from Middle Eastern / Southeast Asian shipyards is a major advantage.
Experience in FPSO redeployment is strongly desired.
Recent experience in a similar role on UK North Sea projects is an advantage.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills applied within a multidisciplinary project team.
Organized, systematic, and flexible.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
