Are you a certified FROSIO Level III Inspector focused on delivering top-quality surface protection and coating performance?
We are seeking an experienced Painting and Coating Inspector with FROSIO Level III certification to ensure high-quality surface preparation and coating application on complex projects. The role involves monitoring contractor performance, conducting inspections and tests, verifying materials and equipment, and ensuring compliance with the requirements of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with PDE Operations and client to clarify scope, especially for life-extension surface preparation and coating activities.
- Support Contractor with condition assessments and inspections.
- Participate in pre-job briefings, design reviews, HAZID/HAZOP, and safety studies.
- Report delays, design issues, or gaps to Surface Protection Lead and ensure corrective actions.
- Attend meetings and inspections globally as needed.
- Manage Technical Queries (TQs), Action Tracker items, and Lessons Learned with Project Management.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to maintain quality and project progress.
- Support workforce training through Technical-teach sessions.
- Ensure site HSE compliance.
- Monitor fabrication, surface protection, and insulation work, ensuring procedures, standards, and quality requirements are met.
- Assist Contractor in achieving mechanical completion and closure of punch items.
- Provide discipline-specific field engineering support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Personal qualities that are particularly valued:
- Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience in surface preparation, coating application, and insulation inspection on similar projects.
- FROSIO Inspector Level III qualification for insulation is mandatory.
- Preferably certified as NS476 Level III or NACE/AMPP Coating Inspector Level II (or equivalent).
- Must have a proactive mindset with a strong focus on supporting contractor success.
- Recent experience in Middle East or Southeast Asian shipyards is an advantage.
- Experience with modification projects and/or FPSO redeployment is highly desirable.
- Experience in UK project execution is an advantage.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills within a multidisciplinary project team.
- Ability to prioritize work in a multitasking environment, meet tight deadlines, follow up on commitments, and take initiative.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
