We are looking for a Field Engineer - Mechanical Technology

Job Description

  • Ensure that all construction activities within Surface Protection and Passive Fire Protection (PFP) are planned, qualified, executed, and documented in accordance with contract specifications, with strong focus on cost-efficient construction

  • Report within the Construction organization and collaborate closely with the Project Material Lead Engineer, who is accountable for discipline decisions (e.g. NCRs, TQs, design issues)

  • Monitor Contractor fabrication activities related to surface protection and PFP, with emphasis on quality, schedule, cost efficiency, and HSE

  • Track work progress against plans and schedules; identify areas of concern and propose corrective actions

  • Participate in engineering and construction reviews to ensure feasible and cost-effective construction solutions

  • Verify that Contractor site personnel are qualified in accordance with project requirements

  • Supervise inspectors within the site team

  • Plan and/or participate in audits and verifications as required

  • Ensure that all required procedure qualifications are performed

  • Review selected drawings and documentation issued by the Contractor

  • Provide technical input to discipline-related decisions (e.g. NCRs, TQs, design issues)

  • Ensure that systems and equipment are properly protected and preserved

  • Verify that fabrication documentation is issued by the Contractor in accordance with project requirements

  • Ensure that all required fabrication records are prepared and complete

  • Report deviations and highlight problem areas to the Construction Lead

  • Ensure completion of scope in preparation for handover to commissioning

  • Participate in area and system punch-out activities, monitor punch status, and follow up to closure

 

Qualification Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of insulation experience from projects in the construction phase

  • 10+ years of experience with NORSOK insulation and/or surface protection work

  • Construction and hook-up experience is preferred

  • Language requirements: English. Scandinavian and/or Polish language skills are an advantage

  • Proven ability to handle high workloads and work effectively under pressure

    Rotation: 15 days job, 20 days off.
