We are looking for a Structural Analyses / Principal Engineer
The Structural Analysis Engineer will be responsible for performing advanced structural analyses of offshore HVDC converter platforms, ensuring compliance with relevant offshore standards and project specifications. The role involves global and local structural analysis using SESAM, supporting all project phases from concept and FEED through detailed design, fabrication, transportation, installation, and in-service conditions.
Job Description
- Perform global and local structural analyses of HVDC platforms using SESAM (GeniE, Sestra, Wadam, Framework, etc.).
- Evaluate structural responses for:
- In-place (operational and extreme environmental conditions)
- Transportation and load-out
- Lifting, lifting points, and temporary conditions
- Installation and commissioning phases - Perform code checks in accordance with DNV standards
- Assess structural capacity for fatigue, ultimate limit state (ULS), accidental limit state (ALS), and serviceability limit state (SLS).
- Support design of primary and secondary steel, including deck structures and support frames.
- Prepare and review: Design basis, Structural analysis reports and Calculations.
- Coordinate with electrical, layout, marine, and fabrication disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of experience in offshore structural engineering.
- Proven experience with HVDC platforms, offshore substations, or large topside structures.
- Strong hands-on experience with SESAM suite: GeniE, Sestra, Wadam, Framework
- Experience with transportation, lifting, and installation analyses is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with steel structures subjected to dynamic and fatigue loading.
- Experience working on EPCI or EPC projects is preferred.
- Knowledge of DNV offshore standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good technical understanding
- Be systematic and accurate
- Communicate well in English and Norwegian - both oral and in writing
