We are looking for a Mechanical Package Engineer-Rotating Equipment
Job Description
- Package Engineer for rotating mechanical equipment (pumps and compressors)
- Perform rotating equipment studies, FEED, design, selection, and technical assessments
- Execute work in accordance with applicable procedures and work instructions
- Prepare and issue technical requisitions and equipment datasheets
- Perform technical evaluation of supplier quotations
- Liaise technically with suppliers, clients, and other engineering disciplines
- Conduct inspections and witness factory and site testing of equipment packages
- Follow up equipment packages during installation, mechanical completion, and commissioning
- Evaluate and respond to technical queries and non-conformance reports (NCRs)
- Identify, assess, and report additional work arising from scope changes
- Review, comment on, and approve supplier documentation
- Provide technical input to engineering registers and project documentation
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, codes, and standards within supplier scope
- Monitor and support timely delivery of equipment and final documentation
Qualification Requirements
- Minimum BSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent discipline
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience as Package Responsible Engineer (PRE) for pump and compressor packages
- Proven experience working within multidisciplinary engineering environments
- Familiarity with NORSOK standards, API 610, API 685, API 674, API 617, API 618, API 614, and Norwegian acts and regulations
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- High commitment to meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness and flexibility to travel frequently as required by the position
