Are you ready to lead day-to-day project operations?
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take long-term ownership of the operational management of the company. This is a pivotal role for a candidate who combines a strong technical/engineering foundation with proven commercial and business management capability, and who can act as a trusted bridge between our client's European principals and its regional client and supplier base across Asia and the Arab world.
Requirements and Skills:
- Strong engineering background (marine, mechanical, or related technical discipline), with subsequent career development into commercial and/or business management roles.
- Proven prior experience working with European marine or engineering organizations. This is important, as it enables effective communication with our client's principals and a clear understanding of their expectations and way of doing business.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with clients, suppliers, and colleagues from Asian and Arab cultures, with strong cultural awareness and adaptability.
- A European background/nationality is considered advantageous, given the company's representation of several European manufacturers.
- Solid track record combining technical credibility with commercial and operational management experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Dubai, UAE.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring efficient delivery of engineering services and equipment sales.
- Act as the primary operational point of contact with European principals and manufacturers, ensuring their expectations, standards, and ways of working are understood and upheld.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and colleagues across diverse Asian and Arab business cultures, adapting communication and management style accordingly.
- Support and align commercial activity with technical/engineering service delivery, including servicing of engines, thrusters, steering gears, and governors, and sale of spare parts and marine equipment.
- Contribute to business planning, operational budgeting, and performance monitoring in coordination with the CEO.
- Ensure smooth coordination between workshop, technical, sales, and administrative functions.
- Uphold quality, safety, and compliance standards consistent with European principal requirements and UAE regulations.
- Represent the company professionally in dealings with principals, clients, and regional stakeholders.
