We’re looking for a Grid Study Professional Engineer with 8–10+ years of experience in power system studies across power plants, substations, renewables, BESS, industrial power systems, or grid connection projects.
Experience with ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS®E, PSCAD/EMTDC, EMTP/ATP, CYME, CYMCAP, or CDEGS is highly valued.
Requirements and Skills:
- Strong knowledge of power system analysis and grid studies for MV/HV/EHV networks.
- Experience in motor starting, voltage drop, reactive power, and voltage stability studies.
- Experience in load shedding, UFLS/UVLS, islanding, and system restoration studies is preferred.
- Familiarity with Saudi Grid Code, SEC, TRANSCO, or other utility/grid operator requirements is an advantage.
- Good understanding of IEC, IEEE, ANSI, Grid Codes, and utility standards.
- Proficient in one or more power system study software, such as ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS®E, PSCAD/EMTDC, EMTP/ATP, CYME, CYMCAP, CDEGS, or equivalent.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support grid studies for power plants, substations, renewables, BESS, desalination, and industrial projects.
- Perform and review load flow, short circuit, motor starting, voltage, transient/dynamic stability, and protection coordination studies.
- Develop and maintain power system models and ensure accurate project data.
Conduct load shedding, UFLS/UVLS, islanding, and grid code compliance studies as required. - Assess the impact of new generation, renewables, BESS, and major loads on the existing network.
- Review grid connection requirements, equipment ratings, fault levels, and system performance.
- Coordinate study inputs with clients, consultants, utilities, OEMs, and engineering teams.
- Prepare and review grid study reports, technical assessments, and recommendations.
- Support bidding, design reviews, commissioning, grid compliance testing, and troubleshooting.
- Address technical comments and ensure alignment with grid codes and project requirements.
