We are looking for a motivated Project Engineer – Control Systems to join ABB’s automation environment in Bergen. This is an exciting opportunity to work with advanced technology, varied engineering projects, and control systems that play a key role in safe and efficient industrial operations.

With an increasing project volume within automation, ABB is looking for engineers who are eager to develop their technical expertise and become part of a highly skilled and collaborative engineering environment.

About the Role

As a Project Engineer, you will be involved throughout the engineering process – from design and programming to testing, implementation and commissioning.

Projects are mainly related to modification projects and control system upgrades within the Oil & Gas industry, both onshore and offshore. A key focus is modernizing and optimizing existing installations to ensure reliable, efficient and long-lasting solutions.

You will typically work with technologies such as ABB 800xA, Advant, Safeguard, Harmony/Symphony+ and Melody.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute engineering activities within control systems
• Perform HW/SW design and implementation
• Set up and configure control systems
• Program ABB controllers and HMI solutions
• Perform testing and commissioning
• Support on-site implementation
• Contribute to modification and upgrade projects
• Travel may be required depending on project needs

Your Background

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in automation, technology and control systems, who is motivated to learn and develop within a strong technical environment.

Ideally, you have:

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. within Automation, Cybernetics, IT, Process Control or a related field
• Good programming and computer skills
• Experience with control systems is an advantage, but not a requirement
• Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken
• Norwegian language skills are an advantage
