For a project in Dubai, we are looking for a Commissioning Utility/Process Engineer
Job Description
Ensure all discipline-related activities comply with the company framework, contract, Yard Execution Plan, and relevant regulations, while safeguarding personnel, the environment, and equipment.
Act in accordance with Altera’s core values and HSE program, representing the Mechanical/Utility Commissioning discipline to ensure activities are executed according to plan in collaboration with the project team.
Foster effective cooperation, communication, and alignment between the base organization and the project.
Work closely with the AIP operations team and the client to provide clear guidance and clarification regarding the scope of work.
Coordinate with the JV Yard organization, Altera Construction Team, and the client to ensure required compliance and verification activities are completed.
Contribute to establishing a Commissioning network in the Project Completion System (PIMS CMS) as a foundation for planning and managing commissioning activities.
Ensure commissioning activities are planned and executed in a timely manner.
Support the Management of Change process and participate in project risk workshops by identifying and following up on relevant risks and mitigation actions.
Coordinate and support interfaces between Construction and Commissioning across all disciplines, including engineering and contractors.
Drive the development and implementation of commissioning activities for the Rosebank FPSO project.
Verify and approve IDC comments related to commissioning for assigned systems.
Prepare commissioning dossiers and procedures for Mechanical/Utility systems.
Participate in the handover process from Commissioning to Operations for all assigned Mechanical and Utility systems.
Review and prepare work packs for commissioning activities.
Take part in design reviews, HAZIDs, HAZOPs, and other related safety studies.
Report any progress delays within your area of responsibility to the Commissioning Process Lead.
Attend meetings, inspections, and tri-party walks.
Collaborate closely with key disciplines in the Engineering Team and request assistance from discipline resources when needed.
Perform other tasks as required by the Commissioning Process Lead.
Qualification RequirementsTechnical education at Bachelor's level or equivalent experience
Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in operations, project execution, and commissioning
Previous experience from the Knarr Project (Mechanical and Utility systems) is a major advantage
Operational experience from both the Norwegian Continental Shelf and international projects is considered a strong asset
Relevant experience from Middle Eastern or Southeast Asian shipyards is a significant advantage
Experience with FPSO redeployment is highly desired
Recent experience in a similar role on UK North Sea projects is an advantage
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills within a multidisciplinary project team
Well-organized, systematic, and adaptable
Fluent English – both written and verbal
