The Commissioning Electro System Engineer, reporting to the Commissioning Electro Lead, will support the PDE Project Team in pre-commissioning and commissioning of HV and LV electrical systems for Altera's Rosebank Life Extension project, covering onshore and offshore phases, including distribution systems, downstream subsystems, lighting, sockets, and heat tracing.
Requirements and Skills:
- Ensure all discipline activities comply with company frameworks, contracts, Yard Execution Plans, and regulations, while safeguarding personnel, environment, and equipment.
- Act in accordance with Altera’s core values and HSE program, representing the Electrical Commissioning discipline and ensuring commissioning activities follow plan in collaboration with the project team.
- Maintain effective cooperation, communication, and alignment between the base organization and the project.
- Work with AIP operations and the client to clarify scope of work and provide guidance.
- Coordinate with JV Yard, Altera Construction Team, and Client to ensure compliance and verification activities.
- Execute commissioning activities per procedures, plan, and Safe Execution of Work requirements.
- Participate in establishing a Commissioning network in PIMS CMS for planning and managing activities.
- Report status and sign off commissioning activities in PIMS CMS; prepare SWCRs and handle commissioning queries.
- Ensure timely planning and execution of commissioning activities.
- Contribute to Management of Change and project risk workshops; identify and follow up on risks and mitigation measures.
- Coordinate and support Construction-Commissioning interfaces across disciplines, including engineering and contractors.
- Drive the development and implementation of commissioning activities for the Rosebank FPSO project.
- Verify and approve IDC comments for assigned systems.
- Prepare commissioning dossiers, develop procedures for Electro systems, and provide input to other discipline procedures.
- Support handover from Commissioning to Operations for assigned Electro systems.
- Participate in work pack reviews and preparation.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZIDs, HAZOPs, and related safety studies.
- Report delays in progress to the Commissioning Electro Lead.
- Attend meetings, inspections, and tri-party walks.
- Collaborate with other key engineering disciplines and call on discipline resources as needed.
- Perform other duties as required by the Commissioning Electro Lead.
Personal qualities that are particularly valued:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 15+ years in operations, project execution, and commissioning.
- Experience with electrification projects, FPSO redeployment, or UK North Sea projects is a plus.
- Operating experience on Norwegian Continental Shelf and international projects.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
- Experience in Middle Eastern or Southeast Asian shipyards and client projects is a plus.
- Organized, flexible, and fluent in English.
